Water supply being restored after widespread power outages

Some of our water treatment plants (WTP) and water pump stations are offline and not supplying water, particularly affecting suburbs in and around Nelson Bay.

Hunter Water crews have deployed generators to treatment plants and pump stations where available and are rerouting the water network to restore supply as soon as possible.

Some of our customers may experience low pressure and/or discoloured water as water is restored. If issues persist please contact our team on 1300 657 000.

The heavy rain has also resulted in wastewater overflows across the network. For your safety, it is advised to avoid stormwater channels. As a precaution, it is also advised people avoid swimming in beaches and waterways due to the potential for water quality impacts from wastewater overflows.
