Make a splash! Share your love for water this World Water Day with Hunter Water’s student competition
Hunter Water is inviting students across the region to get creative and share their passion for water as part of its 2025 World Water Day Student Competition.
Open to students from Kindergarten to Year 12, the competition encourages young minds to express why water is important to them through artwork or photography, accompanied by a short explanation.
With World Water Day on March 22 shining a global spotlight on water conservation, this initiative aims to inspire the next generation to think about the vital role water plays in our lives.
Hunter Water’s Education and Engagement Advisor, Danielle Lucas, says the competition is a fantastic way to engage students in meaningful conversations about water sustainability.
“This is a great opportunity for students to explore their connection with water in a creative way. Whether it’s a painting, drawing, or photograph, we can’t wait to see how young people capture the value of water and why it’s so essential to our future.
“Beyond just art, the competition is about encouraging conversations around water conservation. We all have a role to play in protecting our water supply, and sometimes the most powerful messages come from young minds,” Ms Lucas said.
Winners will be recognised for their creativity and storytelling, with e-gift vouchers awarded in several age-based and special categories, including best water conservation message and most inspiring entry.
Hunter Water is proud to support young artists and storytellers who share a passion for preserving our most precious resource.
Entries are open until Monday, March 31, 2025, and must be original works created by students.
