6:00p.m. Water supply update and swimming advice

The heavy rainfall has put increased pressure on our system, with widespread downpours across our area of operations.

Heavy rain, in combination with power outages, can cause overflows.

It’s advised people avoid swimming in local beaches and waterways for at least two days after heavy rain events, like the one we’re experiencing. Our crews will continue working around the clock to ensure our network remains safe and secure.

As of late this afternoon, water supply has been restored to most of our customers and we continue to work on restoring supply to a small number of customers in and around Nelson Bay.

Some customers may experience low pressure and/or discoloured water as water is restored. If issues persist please contact Hunter Water on 1300 657 000.
