What to do when a property owner passes away

If you've lost a loved one recently, we understand it's a difficult and emotional time for all, which is why we have made it easy for you to notify us so we can update or finalise the account.

What do I need to do?

There are a number of ways you can let us know about a deceased estate. You can:

  1. Visit the Australian Death Notification Service (ADNS). This free service lets you notify multiple organisations (including Hunter Water) of a death through one simple, secure online platform.
  2. Complete our online form below and we will update or close the Hunter Water account.
  3. Call us on 1300 657 657
