Community survey now closed
Thank you to everyone who completed our map-based survey to let us know how and where you access the Hunter River and its waterways. We are now incorporating this information and will let you know soon the next steps for this project.

Information session
Following on from our community session earlier in the year, we have completed further site investigations and commenced the detailed design process which will inform how we proceed with construction.

World War II tank trap removal
Over the past two weeks we have removed most of the concrete World War II tank traps from our section of the shoreline at Stockton beach.

Fencing work to begin
Work will soon begin to construct a chain-mesh fence around the southern portion of land. This land was previously a council landfill site and is being restored and planted with native species. It's necessary to protect the area, especially while the new native plants are establishing.

Reviewing the two options
The design process is still underway with the team currently considering the two options following community feedback, along with the outcomes of environmental, technical and feasibility studies.

Snapshot of findings from the community survey
Early in this project we asked residents and businesses that back onto this section of Munibung Creek to share with us what they like about the creek now, and how they would like to see it improved. We received 10 surveys from residents directly on the creek, which is a great result!

We've invited residents and businesses that back on to the creek to have input into the plan to rehabilitate the creek and manage it in the future.

Work commences on sand container seawall at Stockton
Hunter Water has commenced construction of a large sand container seawall to protect its site at Stockton from coastal erosion.
