Raymond Terrace Wastewater Treatment Works upgrade

We’re upgrading Raymond Terrace Wastewater Treatment Works to provide for future growth in the area and improve the quality of the treated effluent discharged from the site.

About

The Raymond Terrace Wastewater Treatment Works serves the communities of Raymond Terrace, Medowie and some parts of Heatherbrae.

It currently treats 6.4 megalitres per day and can handle wastewater from a population of up to 35,000 people.

The upgrade of the treatment works will update treatment processes and the overall treated wastewater quality will improve. It will also ensure the plant caters for population growth.

All efforts will be made to minimise inconvenience to the community during construction.

Our lead contractor for this project is Service Stream Utilities.

Environmental assessment

As part of the planning process, we completed an environmental assessment known as a Review of Environmental Factors (REF) for the proposed works, and it can be viewed below.

This project is part of Hunter Water’s program to replace and upgrade water and wastewater-related assets across the region. Hunter Water looks forward to continually improving the infrastructure that delivers quality outcomes for both the community and the environment in which we live.
