Our career pathways
Here at Hunter Water, we have a number of programs which enable people in our community to gain experience in and exposure to the wide range of careers available in the water industry.
Our career pathways outlined below include our Graduate Development Program with Lake Macquarie City Council, Work Experience Program and Indigenous and Disability Scholarships.
Work experience
Work experience at Hunter Water provides students with hands-on experience and teaches them valuable workplace skills. See what we offer and how you can apply to work with our team.
Disability scholarships
This scholarship has been established to assist a student with a disability with their studies through financial support. There's also the opportunity of paid work experience for the successful recipient and potentially a graduate position at the completion of their degree.
Indigenous scholarships
This scholarship provides an opportunity for an Indigenous student to gain support with their studies through financial assistance. We also offer the opportunity of paid work experience for the successful recipient and potentially a graduate position at the completion of their degree.
Inclusive employer 2023-2024
We're excited to have been assessed an Inclusive Employer 2021-2022 by the Diversity Council of Australia. We exceeded the National Index Benchmark for inclusion in all of the measures: Inclusive Organisation, Inclusive Leadership, Inclusive Team, Awareness and Engagement. We have achieved this status due to the importance we place on Inclusion in our organisation (so important that we have made it one of our organisational values).
