Dial Before You Dig

Minimise the risk of you damaging underground pipe or cable networks by contacting Dial 1100 Before You Dig. You can lodge your enquiry online or call 1100 during business hours.

You will be sent a Caller Confirmation listing for all asset owners who have underground assets in the vicinity of your proposed excavation.

If Hunter Water is on that list, a request will be sent to Hunter Water to provide service location plans to you. 

  • We will send a copy of the service location plan back to the applicant within two business days.  If the applicant has provided an email address, the plans will be emailed to the applicant. Otherwise the plans will be either faxed (if fax number provided) or posted in the normal mail service.
  • You are entitled to receive free of charge one A4 print (or electronic equivalent) showing our underground services at the site to which your inquiry relates. Additional copies or larger plans will be charged at approved prices.
  • Plans issued by Hunter Water should be accompanied by a cover sheet which sets out the basis on which the plans are issued, qualifications as to their accuracy, occupational health and safety information and other important advice.
