The Funding and Delivery of Growth Infrastructure Manual and Funding and Delivery of Growth Infrastructure Standard set out Hunter Water's approach to funding capital works that support urban growth in the Lower Hunter.
We recognise that capital investment in water and wastewater infrastructure to connect new developments can also provided shared capacity for future Developers and customers to connect to our networks. The Manual and Standard are designed to ensure that new network infrastructure is appropriately sized and configured to be the most efficient option from a total community perspective.
The Manual and Standard apply to residential, commercial and industrial developments where new or augmented infrastructure is required to support urban growth in the Lower Hunter.
As part of our broader capital works program, in some cases we will directly fund infrastructure assets where there are wider regional benefits. These works are driven by a combination of compliance, operational and regional growth objectives (Category 1).
We may also enter into a commercial agreement with a lead Developer for the repayment of infrastructure costs incurred in building appropriately-sized assets when delivery milestones are met (Category 2).
