Dungog Water Treatment Plant Opens

The water supply from Chichester Dam often experienced problems with turbidity after heavy rainfall.

The long-awaited Dungog Water Treatment Plant was commissioned by the Hon Janice Crosio, MP on 12 February 1988.

The plant significantly improved water quality to Maitland and the Coalfields. The benefits were apparent early, with a dramatic drop in dirty water complaints from the public.
