Chichester Dam Fills to Capacity

The temporary pipe connection stayed in use until December 4, 1924, when the entire 900mm Chichester Trunk Gravitation Main was completed. The flow through the pipe was measured at 45 million litres per day.

Water in Chichester Dam gradually built up and flowed over spillway for the first time on June 25, 1925. For the first time Chichester Dam held its full capacity of  18.3 billion litres of water.
